Italy Day 4 – To Positano
We took the train from Venice to Naples.
The countryside slipping by our window was beautiful. We’ve been to Tuscany and Umbria before but have never traveled through those areas by rail.
On the way to Positano we stopped in Pompeii to see the ruins of the city that was destroyed in A.D. 79 when Mt. Vesuvius erupted.
It’s hard to believe how brilliant the Romans were so many centuries ago. Will our skyscrapers still be standing a thousand years from now?
After Pompeii, we were off to the Amalfi Coast. This was our first glimpse of Positano, from high above on a cliff.
This is a view of the city from our hotel window. No complaints!
